The march, the bonfire, the pride—everything builds to Friday night, when the Jackets storm Neodesha determined to ring the bell in Fredonia once again.

Yesterday afternoon, our High School Cross Country team hit the road for Lawrence, ready to tackle the legendary Rim Rock course this morning. It’s a crisp day for racing! Admission is $10 if you’re heading out to cheer. Good luck, Jacket runners!

Lady Jacket Volleyball is on the road to Burlington this morning for a full day of tournament action! Pool play kicks off with Humboldt at 8:30 a.m., Iola at 9:40 a.m., and Burlington at 10:50 a.m. Bracket play begins at 12:30 p.m. Good luck, Jackets—let’s bring the heat!

Friday night lights are back at Gene John Stadium!
Another home battle is set as the Yellowjackets charge onto Pryor Field to take on the Galena Bulldogs. Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m.—don’t miss it! Pack the stands and bring the noise.

The High School C-Team Volleyball squad is on the road to Erie this afternoon for a tri-match against Erie, Humboldt, and Jayhawk-Linn. Wishing our Lady Jackets the best of luck—compete with energy, play hard, and leave it all on the court!

The Junior High Cross Country team is headed to Weir this afternoon for the Lancer Invitational! Racing begins at 4:30 p.m. with the 7th grade division, followed by the 8th grade. Best of luck to our runners—give it your all and run strong!

Tonight, our Junior High Yellowjackets are back in action as they take on the Cherryvale Chargers!

It’s another home showdown, and these up-and-coming athletes are ready to compete with heart and hustle. Let’s pack the stands and cheer them!

Join us tonight, Tuesday, September 24 at 7:00 p.m. in the FJSHS Theater, as the Fredonia High School Choir presents their Fall Concert: Be A Light. Through music, our students will share a message of kindness and positivity.

We invite family, friends, and the entire community to come out and fill the theater with support for our talented singers. Let’s pack the house and celebrate the power of music together!

Tonight, our Varsity and JV squads travel to Frontenac to take on Frontenac and Humboldt starting at 5:00 PM.

Due to construction in the area, please plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
Volleyball bus will leave at 2:15 PM.

Today’s meet in Erie has been postponed. Our Lady Jacket is competing on Thursday, September 25th, same place and time; 1:00 PM at the Prairie Ridge Golf Course.

It’s game night under the lights at Pryor Field! The JV Yellowjackets are set to defend their home turf tonight at 6:00 PM as they square off against the Bluestem Lions.

Fredonia USD 484 extends its sincere gratitude to Dr. Randy Watson, Kansas Commissioner of Education, for visiting our district on Wednesday, September 17.

During the day, Dr. Watson met with our student body, high school seniors, Student Advocate Jason Wheeler, and Director of 21st Century Learning Aaron Chard. He shared valuable insights on education in Kansas and the skills students will need to thrive in the future.

We also thank local businesses—including Koehn Construction, A-Lert Construction, Fredonia Regional Hospital, and First National Bank—for taking time to attend and listen to Dr. Watson’s message.

That evening, Dr. Watson met with around 30 community members, providing an overview of where Kansas education stands today, how Fredonia is performing, and the opportunities that will prepare our students for success in the years ahead.

Next week is shaping up to be one of the busiest yet for USD 484 students and families! From athletics to academics to special events, there’s something happening every single day.
