Abigail Alexander, Brennan Kelley and Kadance Morrow are making an impact through their FCCLA STAR Event, Sister 2 Sister!
After recognizing some of the challenges 7th–9th grade girls can face while navigating school, friendships, and their well-being, the trio created Sister 2 Sister...a mentoring program that connects younger students, or “Little Sisters,” with girls in 10th grade and above who serve as “Big Sisters.”
Each month, the group comes together to talk about real-life concerns, build connections, participate in activities, and most importantly, create a support system where younger students know they have someone in their corner.
Their hard work caught the attention of Mrs. Couch, who nominated Sister 2 Sister for STAR Event of the Month!
What started as a STAR Event has become something even bigger...a chance to build friendships, strengthen confidence, and make a positive difference right here at FJSHS.
Way to go, Abigail, Brennan, and Kadance!

Our HS JV Yellowjackets are hitting the road tonight to take on the Humboldt Cubs! Kickoff is set for 6:00 PM.
Tonight’s matchup will look a little different, as the teams will battle it out 8-man style due to lower roster numbers on both sides.
A schedule update for next week: Monday’s JV game against Riverton has been canceled due to numbers as well. Both programs are working to build those rosters back up!
Good luck tonight, Jackets!

A BIG DAY for our first-year FFA members!
Today, 16 of our first-year FFA members traveled to Girard for the Southeast District FFA Greenhand Conference and they represented Fredonia well!
Members put their FFA knowledge to the test with a 50 question FFA Information Exam and Fredonia placed 5th out of 29 chapters!
Kinzley Evans and Kenidee Bracken had an outstanding showing, tying for 15th place individually out of 516 members on the FFA Information Test!
Kinzley also stepped up to represent our chapter in the Spelldown Competition, which puts an FFA twist on a traditional spelling bee by challenging members with FFA knowledge questions.
Throughout the day, our Greenhands jumped into workshops covering careers, SAEs (Supervised Agricultural Experiences), and leadership. They also explored different Career Development Events and Leadership Development Events at the CDE/LDE Fair and heard an inspiring message from Jory Ratzlaff, past Kansas FFA President and Kansas FFA National Officer Candidate.
And we can't forget our Creed speakers! Kenidee Bracken and Morgan Vorhees took on the challenge of memorizing and presenting the FFA Creed and did an amazing job representing our chapter!
From testing their knowledge to stepping outside their comfort zones and discovering everything FFA has to offer, it was a GREAT day of learning, leadership, and growth for our first-year members.
