The 2009-10 school is one full of the usual challenges with some unusual ones we have never faced.  We continue to prepare our students for the next step in their lives through the a curriculum designed to stimulate them coupled with a delivery method designed to cause them to think, something teenagers do not always wish to do! Added to our challenges are reduced state funding which has caused a reduction in a few of our programs and efforts to cut expenses at FHS through more closely managed utilities.  We believe more reductions are coming during this year and must be ready to deal with them. Should this happen, we will be forced to make decisions that will impact all of us in a negative fashion.  We will continue to be dedicated to our students and their learning environment and will persevere with them through these hard economic times.

Fredonia Middle School is committed to academic excellence and helping all students identify and develop their abilities and interests as they consider their present and future goals.  The staff at Fredonia Middle School is sensitive to the unique developmental challenges of early adolescence.  To address these challenges we offer exploratory classes ranging from music to computers, from family and consumer sciences to technology.  Laptop computers are also available for all 8th graders, aiding in preparing the student for 21st century demands.  Our teachers use a variety of instructional strategies to foster curiosity, exploration, creativity and the development of social skills.  We encourage parent involvement and invite you to attend and see what creative educational activities are occurring at FMS.
