Message from Mr. Lambert--
The one-to-one computer program at FHS has been an overwhelming success.
Students are learning in new ways and producing proof of that learning in
a manner more closely related to their lives outside school.  There have
been more benefits than anticipated, however, some perhaps nearly as
important as academic progress.  Students have demonstrated a remarkable
sense of responsibility toward the computers.  As proof, we offer this:
not one computer has been lost or stolen; not one computer has been broken
through gross negligence; maintenance has been minimal as students
demonstrate the ability to take care of the computers.  The adults at FHS
are gratified that students place high value on the computers and believe
another type of learning is taking place.  That is learning which causes
responsible behavior directed toward protecting an important part of the
school experience.  Academic achievement is still our most critical
mission, but helping students be responsible is certainly another, and our
computer program seems to be doing that.
